Ilima and neighboring Melia broke ground on September 28, 2026. Ilima is not yet completed or ready for occupancy. As of October 11, 2026, the developer's broker portal lists the estimated move-in date as to be announced.

About Ilima at Ward Village

The developer's current plans describe 148 residences across 33 stories. The design team includes Robert A.M. Stern Architects, local executive architect AHL, interior designer Champalimaud Design and landscape designer VITA Planning & Landscape Architecture. Howard Hughes Communities is partnering with Discovery Land Company on the residential experience.

Architecture and Arrival

The architecture takes inspiration from Honolulu's early 20th-century landmarks. Planned shaded walkways, lanais and gardens connect the building with Hawaii's tradition of indoor-outdoor living. The renderings show the proposed streetscape and covered arrival area.

Planned Amenities and Mohala

The supplied brochure presents three levels of planned amenities, including pool areas, fitness and wellness spaces, lounges and dining experiences. Mohala is presented as a private owners club with services and programming by Discovery Land Company.
