Manoa is a beautiful and quiet neighborhood located in the lush, green Manoa valley. This is a great residential area for those who work in Honolulu, as it is within very close proximity to Downtown, Waikiki and Ala Moana. Many of the homes in Manoa were built in the 1960s and have a cottage-like feel to them. Manoa is easily accessible by bus. You will find that many people enjoy walking around this area because of its mystic beauty. Manoa has often displays of rainbows and receives rainfall almost daily. Hidden deep in the valley is the Manoa Falls trail, which features one of the most beautiful and well-known waterfalls on Oahu. At the bottom of the Manoa Falls hike, the Lyon Arboretum features many native plants and flowers.
Manoa is home to Oahu’s public college, University of Hawaii at Manoa. Some of Oahu’s top private and public elementary and high schools such as Manoa Elementary, Noelani Elementary, Punahou School, Mid-Pacific Insititute, and St. Francis are also located here. The Manoa Marketplace is a diverse shopping center that is enjoyed by residents, students and travelers.
